Marina Lin is a 24-year-old talented singer-songwriter who creates music that encourages people to embrace their humanness — including the messy parts.
Born and raised in Bangkok, a series of unexpected events led Marina to Toronto where she found her voice through music. Guitar and piano came naturally, followed by a passion for expressing emotion in imaginative and relatable lyrics.
Marina built a growing online community on YouTube organically and independently since the age of 18. In 2019, after releasing a series of covers, Marina shared her first single “this is what a broken heart feels like” with the world. A year later, the song has accumulated over 11 million streams across all platforms. Marina followed up this success with the release of her debut album “a work in progress” earlier this year. The album is a journey of self-discovery and highlights the hurting, the loving, and the growing, one can experience in relationships and life. It provides a soundtrack to our shared experiences, creating a space for us to embrace and feel our emotions. Guitar melodies and gentle production frame Marina's heartfelt vocals that are as authentic as the stories they tell.
Marina’s currently working on new music in Toronto. As her life evolves, so does her sound. She believes that "everything is a work in progress — and the possibilities are endless."
