Going HOT🔥 on our platform is a huge achievement for an artist, as it means one or more of their social or streaming channels has grown exponentially in a short amount of time. But some artists manage to sustain this growth over a longer period, racking up a Hot Streak.
Essex indie rock three-piece False Heads are currently on a 14 day HOT🔥 streak, which kicked off when the band’s Instagram and Spotify following began to grow rapidly shortly after they were added to the popular ‘Rock Save the Queen’ Spotify playlist. The 255k follower editorial playlist highlights the best rock music in the UK, placing False Heads alongside older favourites like Liam Gallagher, and established newer acts such as Sam Fender and Blossoms.
Since they were added to the playlist, False Heads have gained over 5.5k new Instagram followers and 3k new Spotify followers, a 21% increase on both platforms. This cross-platform success boosted the group’s Ix Score - our proprietary measure combining social and streaming growth - by 17%, landing False Heads on our Indie and Rock charts last week.
False Heads’ latest release, the single ‘Twenty Nothing’, comes from their debut album ‘It’s All There But You’re Dreaming’, which was released in 2020 following a slew of EPs. Taken from that album, the track ‘Rabbit Hole’ has 485k streams on Spotify, with an additional 128k views on the Official Music Video.
Hailing from Essex UK, False Heads formed in 2016. Behind the energy of their live shows, the trio of schoolmates quickly thrust themselves into punk-rock limelight, catching the attention of Punk’n’Roll legend Iggy Pop and music tastemaker Rodney Bingenheimer. Having graduated from playing empty rooms in London to supporting The Libertines, Josh Homme and Band Of Skulls, the buzz around the young band is undeniable. False Heads are Barney Nash (Vocals & Drums), Luke Griffiths (Vocals & Guitar) and Jake Elliott (Bass).
