Learning the Tool #6 - How do I scout for artists in specific countries?

This week we show you how Instrumental’s A&R scouting platform can help you discover artists in specific countries.

Utilising Spotify and social API data with applied AI processes, our A&R scouting platform unearths the fastest growing and most exciting new artists and tracks. The music discovery platform is currently in closed beta, and we are already powering global A&R teams from across the industry.

Learning the Tool #5 - How do I scout for artists in specific countries?

Our A&R scouting platform tracks over 425,000 artists and 4,900,000 tracks on Spotify, unearthing artists from around the world who are enjoying dramatically fast growth.

Our clients often want to focus their scouting efforts on certain territories, and this is why users can filter by ‘ISRC’ code on our platform (see image below).

By clicking on the country filter, you are able to select the two-letter country codes of the territories you would like to scout in (see image below). The platform then pulls the artists who have published or been distributed in the selected countries.

Our A&R platform lets you scout in more than one territory at a time, which allows clients to compare the growth of artists across different markets.

For example, if you select NO and SE, the results will show fast-growing Norwegian and Swedish releases.

With just one click, you are able to increase the granularity of your search.

In our last installment of Learning the Tool, we shared how filters can help you scout for artists with an engaged audience. Check back here next week to read the seventh instalment of our Learning the Tool feature.
