Instrumental managed artist, Catherine McGrath, is fast becoming the flag bearer for the resurgence of country music in the UK.

Raised in rural Rostrevor, Northern Ireland, Catherine grew up over 4,000 miles away from the epicentre of country music. Despite this, her Irish folk roots and pop-star quality have lifted her into and way beyond the realms of Nashville, Tennessee.

Embraced by the country community, Catherine embarks on the most important period of her career to-date, with the release of her debut album ‘Talk Of This Town’. Teasing what is to come on the record, she has shared ‘Wild’, an empowering lovelorn country-pop hit.

Packed with emotion, a huge chorus and catchy hooks, Catherine’s vocal performance and storytelling ability add to her glistening likeability. ‘Wild’ is not only a tune for country fans but a pop anthem for unrequited love.

In under a week, ‘Wild’ has picked up just under 100,000 Spotify streams. With features on 23 influential playlists including UK Top 50, New Music Friday UK and 100 Uplifting Songs, Catherine’s playlist following has grown to over 3.2 million in the past 7 days (Instrumental’s A&R scouting tool).

Picking up support from BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2, Scott Mills praised the song as “[feeling] right for the summer”. ‘Wild’ has also enjoyed success in the iTunes Country charts, where it currently sits within the top 5.

Discussing the release, Catherine’s manager Lisa Wilkinson commented:

“It’s been an incredible journey working with Catherine over the last 3 years - from discovering her singing Taylor Swift covers on YouTube from a remote village in Ireland, to signing a major record deal and selling out headline shows all around the country! We’ve been really lucky to work with some of the best teams in the business (Warner Brothers, CAA and Closer Music/Kobalt) but it all comes down to the commitment and dedication shown by Catherine as a writer and an artist. We’re all just really proud of her and excited to see what the next 12 months will hold”.

Catherine McGrath’s debut album ‘Talk Of This Town’ is out on July 27th via Warner Bros Records.
