Viral sensation, Broadway star & RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Todrick Hall has today signed his very first record deal with frtyfve Records - the label arm of digital talent discovery platform Instrumental.
Exploring the unusual times that we’re all experiencing, the fabulous ‘Quarantine Queen’ is a boisterous explosion of anthems that provide a sassy soundtrack for staying in. The lead track’s ‘Mask, Gloves, Soap, Scrubs’ (a hilarious and topical re-working of Todrick’s smash ‘Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels’) video features none other than Nicole Sherzinger, Jade Thirlwall from Little Mix, Amber Riley and many more famous faces.
Todrick commented, “Surprise! Soooo...exactly a week ago I decided to write and create an entire album to hopefully lift your spirits during this quarantine! Nina Simone once said, ‘It's an artist's duty to reflect the times in which we live.’ I hope this inspires you to stay healthy, stay creative, stay safe and stay home while continuing to stay fabulous!”
“We are thrilled to have Todrick as part of the frtyfve family” said label head Emma Banks. “We hope to compliment Todrick’s creative vision and flair with our data led approach to engaging music fans globally”.
Conrad Withey, CEO of frtyfve and Instrumental added “Todrick is a unique talent and we are incredibly excited to be working with him on “Quarantine Queen” and going forward with more new music.”
