The Rise of Lewis Capaldi

Find out when we first discovered the platinum-star Lewis Capaldi

Lewis Capaldi was brought to our attention two years ago after his debut record, "Bruises" appeared on the Instrumental Scouting Platform. Fast-forward 24 months and the singer-songwriter has just clocked 7 weeks at the UK number one spot with hit critically acclaimed single “Someone You Loved”.

Following on from the success of his 2017 debut E.P. "Bloom" the Scotsman's momentum continued with the release of "Breach", his second extended play which featured fan-favourites  including "Tough", "Grace", the demo version of "Something Borrowed", and "Someone You Loved"; a record that continues to soar at the top of the charts.

Lewis is currently sitting comfortably on 74.8M playlist followers, up 2.7M over the past seven days, with features on the likes of "Today's Top Hits", "Relax & Unwind" and "Soft Pop Hits".

To date, 60M of the 74.8M active playlist followers are for "Somebody You Loved" alone, which is a sure sign of momentum in terms of streaming for the current number one record in the U.K. This week on Spotify alone, he has picked up over 14.8K new direct followers, a 5.13% increase.
