Meet the Team: Dayan Concessao

I was born in Goa, India and spent the first 2 decades of my life there. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Economics and French Literature, I moved to Mumbai in 2016 to work with digital venture builder Blenheim Chalcot, and I’ve been working with Instrumental ever since.

What does your role entail?

My role entails handling Instrumental India’s operations across the business support services that we provide to Instrumental and its clients. My day-to-day ranges from supporting on talent discovery for a range of our clients to lead generation.

What’s the best part of your job?

It’s the fact that I get to collaborate with a bunch of interesting people in the UK and across Asia who are incredibly passionate about the music industry and the digital space. Apart from that, it’s the thrill of supporting a business that’s unique, exciting and fast-growing!

What did you want to be when you were little?

It was a pilot - It’s quite ridiculous or even highly laughable, now that I look back.

In your spare time, what do you get up to?

I spend a lot of time watching movies, binge-watching shows on Netflix or exploring interesting places around Mumbai.

What’s your earliest memory?

It’s my mother walking me to Kindergarten on the opening day. I cried so much, that even the teachers found it really hard to deal with the situation!

What’s your favourite place you’ve ever visited?

Well, I’d say all the places I’ve visited in the UK whilst working with Instrumental in England. The Taj Mahal at Agra is another place that’s really beautiful.

If you had to delete all but 3 apps from your phone, which ones would you keep?

Easy question - Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp.

If you could go and live in a fictional world, which book (or movie) would you live in?

Possibly Westeros in Game of Thrones. Perhaps Jon Snow and I could both mutually agree that we really know nothing.
