Learning the Tool #7 - How do I scout for artists on specific playlists?

This week we show you how the Instrumental music scouting platform can help you discover the fastest-growing artists on your favourite playlists.

The Instrumental music scouting platform works as a connector between the music industry and emerging artists. The platform is at the forefront of data-driven online scouting, monitoring billions of data points each day, to deliver real-time intelligence on emerging artists to A&R and talent scouting teams.

Learning the Tool #7 - How do I scout for artists on specific playlists?

Our A&R scouting platform tracks over 440,000 artists and 4,900,000 tracks on Spotify, highlighting artist momentum through dynamic audience reach data.

Our clients often want to focus their scouting efforts on certain moods, genres and themes. These are often best captured by Spotify playlists, therefore the Instrumental platform has the functionally for you to input a Spotify playlist into the dashboard to uncover the growth data on its featured artists.

We track over 12,000 influential playlists of 10,000 or more followers. However, there may be a specific playlist that you know that is a reliable source of the best fresh talent.

By using the ‘Playlist URL’ filter you are able to input playlist URLs to view the results from specific playlists. This is very easy to use - all you need to do is copy and paste the playlist URL from your web browser into the filter and hit enter. You can still use all the other filters around this but you will only see results for tracks or artists that meet that criteria and appear on your chosen playlist (see image below).

In our last installment of Learning the Tool, we shared how filters can help you scout for artists in specific countries.
